Simon Huang serves as the Chief Technology Officer for the City of St. Louis.
As part of the Office of the Mayor, his responsibilities include overseeing long-range citywide technology strategy and planning, providing regular updates to senior leadership on IT operations, and advocacy within the office for technological improvements for the city.
Goals include:
- modernize and streamline the delivery of government services
- position the city to be more attractive to businesses, and
- expand internet access and ensure inclusive growth for all constituents
In order to meet these goals, Simon works collaboratively with City and Regional agencies, seeks to establish relationships with technology vendors and develops other partnerships as appropriate.
Most recently, Simon was in management consulting. Prior to that, he served as Director of IT for St. Charles County and earlier as Director of Technical Services for Caleres. He earned Bachelors degrees in Math and Computer Science from Grinnell College and Washington University and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
