Alan Dooley is the Head of Digital Strategy for Limerick City & County Council. Alan leads initiatives in Digital Strategy, Digitalisation, Telecoms, and CCTV, focusing on planning, developing, and maintaining digital infrastructure and services for the Limerick region. His mission is to use innovation in digital services and citizen engagement to transform Limerick into a smart, sustainable region, driving economic and spatial development.

Before joining the Council, Alan spent 25 years in software engineering, primarily in the U.S. financial and insurance industry, where he led global engineering teams and delivered large-scale digital transformation programs by fostering modern engineering practices.
