About Us

The City Innovation Network (CIN) is a new global initiative to assist city governments to adopt AI and emerging technologies. Building on the Cities Today Institute’s decade of trusted collaboration with city CIOs and innovation leaders across Europe and North America, the CIN provides a peer-driven, practical platform where cities learn how to scale innovation, develop workforce capacity, and ensure digital transformation provides measurable benefits to citizens.

Working Groups

To address the focus areas of the CIN, dedicated working groups have been established to drive strategy, share use cases and research, and streamline procurement for faster innovation adoption.

  • Strategy: A public-private group dedicated to putting the foundations in place for the scalable rollout of innovation including data governance, AI literacy, and change management.
  • Use Cases & Research: A cross public-private-university group dedicated to the sharing of success stories as well as the testing and scale of new solutions with university partners.
  • Procurement: A city-led group focused on ways to streamline procurement to accelerate the adoption of solutions.

Working group meetings take place virtually through a series of one-hour sessions for each group, followed by in-person meetings at the City Leadership Forum.

"The relatively small group format of the Leadership Forum with presentations on a variety of topics followed by questions and discussions allowed for a more in-depth conversation, fostered new professional relationships, and exposed attendees to broader issues than we may hear at mobility specific conferences where too many vendors compete for your time."
