Eddie Bowling serves as the Deputy City Manager for the City of Thomasville with 23 years of service. Currently, Eddie manages the Police Department, Fire Department, Radio System, IT Department and responsibilities in community and economic development.

He previously served in the Fire Department for 20 years progressing through every rank to become Fire Chief in 2020. He has served as the Chairperson for Davidson County’s Local Emergency Planning Committee, previous United Way Board Chairperson and board member of the Thomasville Chamber of Commerce.

Eddie has an AAS in Emergency Medical Sciences from DCCC and a BS in Emergency and Disaster Management from Western Carolina University with a Minor in Criminal Justice and graduated with a Master’s in Public Administration program at Appalachian State University. Currently, Eddie is a certified Emergency Manager, Paramedic and listed as NIMS instructor with NC Emergency Management.
